You are warmly invited to join us for the third session of our annual critical theory seminar, “Causeries Critiques.”
Our guest speaker for the day will be Maxime Bœuf. Maxime is a graduate student in Comparative Literature at the Franco-German Doctoral School of Aix-Marseilles and Tübingen.
This session will give us an opportunity to discuss Imagology, which Maxime uses as a theoretical framework in his current research. More specifically, we will be looking at two texts:
- “Les écrivains français et le mirage allemand” by Jean-Marie Carré,
- and “L’étranger tel qu’on le voit” by François-Marie Guyard,
which you will find in our Dropbox.
The seminar will take place on Friday, December 13th from 10 am to 12 noon, in the Salle de Formation of the Maison de la Recherche (Paris 3), located 4 rue des Irlandais 75005 Paris. The session will be held in French.
NB: The “Causeries Critiques” seminar is now part of the doctoral training course catalogue. We regularly invite francophone and anglophone participants to present the subject and theoretical background of their current research, in order to build a collaborative cartography of contemporary critical theory.
We hope to see many of you there!
